Trip to Victoria – July 3rd

The Lantzville Probus photography group is going down to Victoria with Janies bus on July 3rd. The cost is $35 per person plus tax. The bus holds 20 persons but we need 10 to make it happen. Janie will leave Nanaimo at 8:30 am and be back at 5:30 and she can drop off anyone interested in joining us for a ride to Victoria anywhere in Victoria. You do not have to be involved with photography. This is an opportunity to go to Victoria for shopping or, perhaps, see the new Egyptian exhibition at the museum without having to drive the Malahat. If anyone is interested please call Lia at 250-751-1801 or e-mail

An Out and About Day Trip is being planned for Monday, June 25. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for a day of adventuring and fun Up Island. The itinerary will include 5 or 6 of the following locations.

  • a 1.8 km return walking self guided tour (no organized tours are available) at the new John Hart Generating Station at Campbell River,
  • the award winning, internationally renowned Museum at Campbell River
  • lunch and beach walk at Salmon Point Restaurant & Pub
  • a tasting tour at Shelter Point Distillery

  • a tour at Seal Bay RV Park.

The approximate cost is in the $55 – $60 range. The tip for the bus driver will be included in this cost. Details, signing up info, the final cost as well as info on the payment will follow shortly. I just wanted you to mark your calendars now.

Lantzville Probus Kayak club

We have now formed a Kayak club.  We will plan some paddles and may also do some last minute evening trips when the weather permits.  We’ll hopefully do some ocean day trips as well as paddle some of the lakes in our area.

We will operate it like the Hiking club, ie we’ll plan a paddle and then email interested parties to see if they want to join us.

We had a sign up sheet at  the April general meeting, but if anyone else is interested, please contact me with your email address and I’ll add you to the group for this activity.

I will send out an email to interested parties, and poll about days that work as well as areas the group would like to tackle.
