Presentation for May 24th Meeting
Representatives of the Victoria Chapter of Dying With Dignity Canada will give a presentation entitled “Assisted Dying 101: The Basics”.
This will provide information on the various aspects of assisted dying on Vancouver Island including:
- what Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) means;
- who would qualify;
- Patient Requests;
- getting approved and what to do afterwards;
- the peace one feels, and choosing a date;
- what happens on the day, the necessary arrangements and other considerations.
We will also cover palliative care and sensitive topics like life fatigue, dementia, mental illness, life insurance and family.
Please feel free to bring any interested guests to this meeting as our presenters are traveling up from Victoria especially and would, I am sure, appreciate a full house.
